Thursday, November 12th, 2009 by Chris Coleman

Are you one of those Virginia Tech basketball season ticket holders who lives so far away that you can’t make it to all the game? Are you tired of seeing your tickets go to waste? Here’s a simple solution: send your tickets to us!

Some Clemson/Georgia Tech Thoughts

Thursday, September 10th, 2009 by Chris Coleman

Clemson and Georgia Tech square off in a huge ACC game tonight.  Just for fun, I checked out the depth charts for both teams and found some things to write about. (more…)

Sims to Alabama

Thursday, April 16th, 2009 by Chris Coleman

In a move that surprised no one, Virginia’s top recruit in the class of 2010, Phillip Sims, verbally committed to Alabama on Wednesday. Sims is one of the top five quarterback prospects in the nation, and could end up being #1 before it’s all said and done. He’s the latest in a line of highly-touted quarterbacks from Virginia who are headed out of state.

Crunching the Numbers: Basketball Scholarships

Thursday, March 26th, 2009 by Chris Coleman

A popular question on the message boards when Momo Jones was still committed to the Hokies was how Tech would have room for him within the scholarship limits.  Now that Jones is heading elsewhere, it makes the numbers management a little easier, but it is still worth a quick analysis.

All-ACC Awards

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 by Chris Coleman

Yesterday the media released the 2008-09 All-ACC team, and today they announced Ty Lawson as the ACC Player of the Year.  Sounds like fun, so I think I’ll join in the action.

Hokies Win in Typical Greenberg Fashion

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 by Chris Coleman

This is Seth Greenberg’s sixth year coaching Virginia Tech’s men’s basketball team.  He’s won a lot of games in Blacksburg, and by now it’s clear how he views the game.  To Greenberg, college basketball is about emotion, pride, toughness, competing and wanting to win the game more than your opponent.  For the Hokies, all of those attributes were on display in Winston-Salem last night.

David Wilson Is Underrated

Monday, November 10th, 2008 by Chris Coleman

David Wilson, the record breaking running back from GW-Danville, is the #3 ranked player in the state by TechSideline.com recruiting analyst Chris Horne.  He is the #45 overall player nationally by Rivals.com.  Rivals also ranks him the #6 running back in the nation.  Those are some pretty high honors.  In my opinion, he’s even better than everyone has given him credit for thus far.

Nebraska Primer

Thursday, September 25th, 2008 by Chris Coleman

The Hokies head to the midwest to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. Playing a team so far away during the regular season isn’t something Virginia Tech does a lot. They did play at LSU last year and at Texas A&M in 2002, but generally the Hokies stick to the east coast. To get you better prepared for the game, here’s a quick primer on Nebraska.

This Week, Losing Is Not an Option

Friday, September 12th, 2008 by Chris Coleman

Tomorrow’s game with Georgia Tech is a must-win game. It’s odd to call a game in mid-September a “must-win game”, but that is the situation we are facing this season. In my opinion, the Hokies have only faced a situation like this twice. Once in 1995, and again in 2004.
